What kind of course is this?

MBCT-L comes from the University of Oxford's mindfulness research tradition. Developed from Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), it is designed for everyday life and for the general public — no meditation experience needed, and it is not only for people facing emotional difficulties.

Over eight weeks, guided by a teacher, you'll build your own practice habit through mindfulness exercises, group discussion and everyday-life application. International research shows courses of this kind help reduce stress, prevent relapse of emotional difficulties, and increase life satisfaction.

Please note: the course is taught in Cantonese. If you would like an English-language option, mention it on the waitlist form — we will let you know what is possible.

Our Promises

Three commitments

Guided in Cantonese

CANTONESE-FIRST

Most mindfulness apps offer only English or Mandarin. The mind settles most easily in the language it knows best — so all our guidance and classes are in Cantonese.

Evidence-based

EVIDENCE-BASED

The course follows the MBCT-L curriculum — rooted in Oxford's mindfulness research and developed from Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). No mystification, no exaggeration, and never a promise of a cure.

Small groups, in person

IN-PERSON · HONG KONG

Eight weeks with the same teacher and the same fellow travellers, face to face in Hong Kong. Mindfulness is a practice between people — not homework done alone in front of a screen.

The Journey

The eight-week journey

Week 1

Waking up from autopilot

Noticing how often we are "there but not present", and reconnecting with the here and now.

Week 2

The wisdom of the body

Learning to listen to the body's signals through the body scan.

Week 3

Gathering the scattered mind

Using breath and movement as anchors, practising bringing attention back.

Week 4

Recognising patterns of distress

Seeing the habits of stress and emotional reaction — and learning not to be dragged along by them.

Week 5

Allowing things to be as they are

Practising meeting difficult experiences with openness and gentleness.

Week 6

Thoughts are not facts

Keeping a little distance from thoughts, no longer letting automatic thinking define you.

Week 7

Kindness towards yourself

Exploring what nourishes you and what depletes you, and learning self-care.

Week 8

Living mindfully

Bringing the eight weeks together, and carrying the practice into every day that follows.

Format: one session per week (about 2 to 2.5 hours) for eight consecutive weeks, plus a full practice day. Small-group teaching with limited places. Classes are held in urban Hong Kong [venue to be confirmed] and taught in Cantonese.
